We only carry Authentic Native American Dream Catchers made in the USA!
Here at Arizona Indian Jewelry.com, after using many different suppliers for our Dream Catchers and Mandellas in the beginning, feel that we have been very fortunate in finding what we consider to be the best manufacturer of Dream Catchers and Mandellas within the United States! That particular Artisan is none other than Mae S., of the Navajo Tribe. Mae's original design and craftsmanship of Dream Catchers and Mandellas is matched by none! Her attention to detail and the materials she uses are surpassed by no other manufacturer. And her Dream Catchers and Mandellas come in a wide variety of colors and sizes! We carry exclusively only Dream Catchers and Mandellas meticulously handcrafted by Mae, as no others can match her quality and craftsmanship, and they surpass by far any that are made in Mexico or Overseas.
Mae was raised by her Grandparents when her mother died when she was just 8 months old. Her Grandmother (Shi'Nasani), Mary Begay, taught Mae to do arts and crafts. Mae has taught her four children and is now teaching her grandchildren, all eleven of them!
This is a photo of Mae sitting outside of the house she grew up in
on the Reservation doing Dream Catchers. On the left is Mae's Daughter, Sheila, then Mae and on the right is Mae's Grandmother (Shi'Nasani), Mary Begay, who is 104!
Another photo of Mae.
Picture of Mae on the left, sitting outside her home, with one of her Grand Daughter's "Alicia" on her lap. In the center is Mae's Aunt "Grace", and on the right side is Mae's Grandmother, "Mary Begay", who is 104 years old, born in August 1899. Mae's Grandmother Mary, taught Mae how to do arts and crafts.
Dream Catcher: It is believed that each carefully woven web will catch your dreams in the night. The bad spirit dreams will get caught in the web and disappear with the morning sun. The good spirit dreams will find their way to the center and float down the sacred feather. Dream Catchers are believed to bless the "sleeping ones" with pleasant dreams, good luck, and harmony throughout their lives.
The Dream Catcher can be hung in your window, at the head of your bed, or displayed on a wall. It can also be hung on the rear view mirror of your car or truck (only the smaller ones - for safety).
NOTE: 2, 3 and 4 Inch Dream Catchers are sent in their own individual plastic bag, with a Certificate of Authenticity and another card with the
"Story of the Dream Catcher" as written above.
One More Note: The woven center in the rings of our Dream Catchers are made with imitation sinew (sinew is animal stomach), for health reasons they use imitation.
The above 'Spiritual Meaning' for Dream Catchers, is for entertainment purposes only! We at Arizona Indian Jewelry
do not make any such claims to the above statements.
